Particularly in last October, Vietnam shrimp exports increased by 6% compared to May 9/2016 reached over 337 million and an increase of 3% compared to the same period of 2016. The export value of shrimp continues to increase thanks to demand better still from the import market with value growth of 3 major import markets: USA, EU, China.
10 months of this year, exports to the top 5 major markets remains positive growth except for Japan decreased 2.6%. Exports to China increased 24.7% best; exports to the US, EU, South Korea increased by 12.6%; 6.7% and 12.4%. Exports to smaller markets declined from 0.2% - 24.5%.
Although exports to the two markets is important to the US and China positive growth in the first 10 months of this year. However the month 10/2016, 2 shrimp exports to this market down 1.1%, respectively, and 9.4% compared to the same period in 2015. Shrimp exports to the US fell in October could be due to psychological pressure the final results of the anti-dumping duty in POR10 high. Shrimp exports to China fell in October due to China's economic instability, the RMB devaluation.
In contrast, exports to Japan fell by 2.6% in the first 10 months of this year. However, exports to this market during the month 10/2016 dramatic recoveries of 8.7%. Japanese market is the 3rd largest importer of shrimp Vietnam after the US and the EU accounted for 18.3% of Vietnam's shrimp exports.
